Origami Ornaments-Stockings

Origami Ornaments-Stockings

Continuing with my origami obsession, I showed my 5th and 6th grade students how to make an Origami Stocking Ornament. There are about 9 steps involved in this little ornament.  It is rather easy to make and is a great little gift.

Origami is the Japanese art of folding paper.  Origami began in the 17th century and has become a popular art form.  The goal is to take a flat piece of paper and create a 3D sculpture.

Pins for Patients

Pins for Patients at Arnold Palmer Pavilion

Some of my students have been coming in early during the week to help with a community service project.  We have been making little gifts for the cancer patients at Arnold Palmer Pavilion.  We have been making handmade clay pins and small origami gift boxes.

This is an ongoing project that will continue throughout the year.
