Weaving on Clay Looms

My most recent student teacher, Leah Shuck, began this project with my sixth grade students.  The end results are wonderful and the students really loved the project.

We had many looms break in the drying and firing process because the students did not make them thick enough.  This is one project that needs to be a bit thick in order to work well!

Miss Shuck's original plan was to have the students use tempera paint on the bisque ware but the glaze looks much better.

From start to finish we spent 5- 40 minute classes working on these.  Certainly a time commitment but well worth it.
